In the Linyi area, the current mainstream and compliant external wall insulation materials mainly include the following categories:
Vertical fiber rock wool board, represented by hydrophobic vertical fiber rock wool, has a combustion performance of Class A and a thermal conductivity coefficient as low as 0.035-0.040 W/(m · K). It has excellent fire resistance, sound insulation, and durability, and is widely used in high-rise residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and other buildings with strict safety requirements for exterior walls. It is a core material recommended by the Linyi government.
Foam ceramic insulation board, also an A-grade non combustible material, has a slightly higher thermal conductivity (0.060-0.080 W/(m · K)), but it has extremely strong frost resistance, zero water absorption, and the same lifespan as the building. It is particularly suitable for super high-rise buildings and fire isolation belt systems in extremely cold climates.
The integrated insulation and decoration board adopts rock wool or foam ceramic as the core material, and is covered with a decorative layer on the surface to achieve the integration of insulation and decoration construction. It meets the JG/T 287 standard, has high construction efficiency and beautiful appearance, and is the preferred solution for energy-saving renovation of new projects and existing buildings.
Modified XPS board, modified with graphite or flame retardant, meets the B1 level fire protection standard, with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.028-0.033 W/(m · K), outstanding compressive and moisture-proof performance, and is only allowed to be used in non residential low rise buildings such as basements and garages, and must be equipped with fire isolation belts.
As a cutting-edge energy-saving material, the thermal conductivity of aerogel composite board can be as low as 0.020 W/(m · K) or less, and its thickness is extremely thin, but it can achieve ultra-high thermal insulation performance. It is suitable for scenes with extreme requirements for space and energy efficiency, such as the pilot of ultra-low energy consumption buildings, the reconstruction of thin layers of historic buildings, and is accelerating its large-scale application in Linyi from 2026.
The integrated insulation structure system, such as JTD formwork and sandwich shear wall technology, has been forcibly promoted in new construction projects in Linyi since 2026, completely replacing traditional adhesive insulation layers. The insulation layer is constructed synchronously with the main structure, fundamentally improving system safety and durability, and is the only compliant path for future building energy conservation.
Traditional EPS board, adhesive powder polystyrene particle insulation slurry, expanded perlite board and other materials have been banned from use in exterior wall insulation systems by the housing and construction department of Linyi City due to their inadequate fire resistance or susceptibility to cracking and failure.
